FISHING – TROUT AND SEA

North west Tasmania is a freshwater and saltwater angler’s paradise. Within half an hour’s drive of The Winged House you will find trout streams, river and lakes. Within an hour to two hours you’ll have access to one of the world’s greatest trout fishing wilderness venues through the national parks system with Lake St Clair, Lake King William, Lake Echo, Lake Augusta and Great Lake.
Fly fishing for wild trout in the central highland lakes and fastwater streams is an invigorating experience. If you’re just starting out we recommend you use the services of a professional accredited guide. The best site is www.troutguidetasmania.com.au. If you’re an offshore enthusiast go to sea charter boat operators at www.scboot.com.au. For regularly updated freshwater and saltwater information go to www.discovertasmania.com.
A fishing licence is required for all freshwater fishing and saltwater cray fishing. If you just want to wet a line please feel free to use the rods and fishing gear provided at The Winged House. You can buy bait at the seafood café at the Inglis River jetty at Wynyard or you can simply lift a rock on the seashore and catch a small crab to use for bait.[/cs_text][/cs_column][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/3″ style=”padding: 0px;”][x_widget_area sidebar=”ups-sidebar-what-to-do-section” ][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
