There are two nine hole  golf courses within 10 minutes’ drive of The Winged House – Wynyard Golf Club (03 64422614) and a private golf course at Bluff Point at the mouth of the Inglis River.   There’s no waiting to tee off.    Within easy reach of The Winged House there are a number of championship 18 hole courses.

Some courses have spectacular coastal settings from Smithton (9 hole 03 64522499) and Stanley (9 hole 03 64581395)  west of  The Winged House,  to Seabrook on the east  (18 hole 03 64422173 at Cooee) to Burnie (9 hole 03 64351443) to  Penguin (9 hole 03 6437 2029) and to  Ulverstone (18 hole 03 6425 2322) .  The world famous Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links designed by Tom Doak and Mike Slayton at 425 Waterhouse Road Bridport (03 63560094) is about two hours’ drive east of The Winged House.   Best information and links is through www.discovertasmania.com.
